Lost Compete, HTC, BlackBerry and Motorola Reportedly Quit from Tablet Market

Tablet segment today is quite crowded. And the most dominating in the market, of course, is Android tablets and the iPad. Meanwhile Windows-based tablets are still far less than the two devices.

And in this segment as well, two large companies become rulers, namely Apple and Samsung. As a result, other companies also chose to resign from this segment. A report from Digitimes reveals that two manufacturers of Android tablets, the HTC and Motorola chose to budge. In addition, according to the report, the BlackBerry also retreated from the tablet segment.

Setbacks are three manufacturers of these tablets because of high competition, especially in the low end tablet segment. Companies like Samsung, Acer, Asus and Lenovo to flood the tablet segment with price less than 200 USD. Moreover, Samsung has just announced that they will be more focused on the tablet market.

Judging from the activity in the tablet market, these three companies is long enough not issue a new device. So it is not surprising that they chose to get out of this segment. On the other hand, HTC and BlackBerry is currently undertaking an effort to rise from the collapsed position.

Microsoft Interested to Buy Winamp from AOL?

Yesterday’s official announcement appears as the owner of AOL Winamp which it will be shut down on December 20 next. But the plan could be canceled, because Microsoft reportedly have an interest to buy Winamp from AOL.

Quoted from Pocket-lint, Microsoft is reportedly in talks with AOL regarding this matter. But TechCrunch revealed that talks are not related to the purchase Winamp entering the final stages, especially related to the issue price to be paid by Microsoft.

This news also led to speculation about the resurrection Winamp before official funeral procession made. Along with the purchase of Winamp, Microsoft is also reportedly interested in acquiring Shoutcast, streaming service developed by Nullsoft and also currently owned by AOL.

There is no information on the reasons for Microsoft to purchase the Winamp. Microsoft could just use the feature in Winamp owned his own service like Xbox Music or develop it independently.

BlackBerry Ready to Launch New Smartphone Z50 with Quad Core Processor

After Nokia successfully launched quad -core smartphone in the world’s first Windows Phone , BlackBerry now do not want to miss . The Canadian company also will launch a smartphone with a quad -core processor with Z50 BlackBerry name and will be released in the third quarter of 2014.

This smartphone will have full touch design as seen on the Z30 and Z10 . Furthermore , BlackBerry Z50 also mentioned will have a screen size of 5.2 -inch Full HD . But there was no information about the other specs are revealed to the public for now .

In addition to ready to launch its first quad-core smartphone , the BlackBerry also will present new BlackBerry Z30 in the second quarter of 2014. Unlike the Z30 that had just entered the Indonesian market , the brand new version of BB Z30 comes with a QWERTY keyboard design . Here , it seems like to restore the glory of the BlackBerry QWERTY smartphone , which used to be one of his trademark .

It is also in line with the statement of the new BlackBerry CEO , John Chen previously . In a statement, Chen said that his company has never had enough recipes to be able to survive in the long-term business .

North Korea Android tablet, apparently Samjiyon Use Pirated Game Angry Birds

Still remember the first Android tablet in North Korea by name Samjiyon? The tablet comes with several features, one of which is the game Angry Birds. But you know if it’s in the tablet game Angry Birds is a pirated version?

This was confirmed directly by the game developer Rovio as Angry Birds. The Washington Post and quoted from BGR, Rovio said that the tablet was launched Samjiyon comes preloaded with Angry Birds game pirated.

Toshiba Introduces Cheap Android Tablet REGZA AT374/28K with Quad Core Processor Rockchip

A cheap tablet has just introduced by the original Japanese electronics manufacturer , Toshiba . Cheap tablet is REGZA AT374/28K that use quad core Rockchip RK3188 processor with 1.6GHz speed .

This tablet has a 7 inch screen which offers a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. Besides wearing quad core RK3188 processor , the tablet is equipped with Mali 400MP GPU , 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory size . There is also a microSD slot for additional storage capacity .

This tablet does not come with a SIM card slot . Only supports WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0. At the back , there is a 3MP camera and a VGA camera in front . In addition , there are SRS Audio Enhancement technology on this device . For the operating system , Toshiba pinning Android Jelly Bean OS 4.2 .

This tablet according to the plan will be on sale in the Japanese market on 22 November next. Regarding price, the Toshiba size 29 is 800 yen. There is no information about the Plan’s global tablet sales.

Dell has just released a latest ultrabook , the XPS 13 is intended for developers . Ultrabook is any different from the XPS 13 is designed for the general consumer . Instead of using Windows OS , XPS 13 Developer Edition comes with Ubuntu OS . Ultrabook is also a continuation of the earlier project Sputnik was released in 2012  .

Ultrabook comes with a touch screen measuring 13.3 inches with a resolution of full HD . In it , pinning OS Dell Ubuntu LTS 12:04 . Other specifications , ultrabook is equipped with 8GB of RAM and weighs only about 1.3 pounds .

Dell XPS 13 offers two configurations Developer Edition . The first configuration is using a Core i5 – 4200U processor and 128GB SSD is pegged at a price of 1249 USD . Meanwhile other configuration uses an Intel Core i7 – 4500U and 256GB SSD is set at 1549 USD .

Ultrabook is scheduled to be available in the U.S. market in mid- December. Furthermore , Dell plans to bring this ultrabook to other countries in the coming months .
